Fine Banileke Gorilla Mask
A hand carved African mask from the Bamileke/Banum tribes of Cameroon. The mask is carved from a single piece of densehard wood, with a surface showing ware that includes red mineral accents on the facial features.
Obviously the work of a Master carver, it would be considered a true work of art in any culture.
The mask shows some age from handling. It is not a new mask, likely mid to late 20th century.
The mask measures 11 inches tall and about 11 inches wide.
