This is a magnificent item, beautifully crafted and with only slight damage to the veneered finish as shown. It is a tabletop viewer either stereo or mono for examining photographs or pictures and dates back, I would say to the late 19th century. There are two small scratches and another mark on the main lens as shown on the third photograph which are not noticeable in use otherwise it is in very good condition and it measures 21 x 13.5 x 6cm deep when closed overall.
