BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE KESTNER DOLL WITH KID BODY-ORIGINAL ANTIQUE CLOTHING-HAND MADE:

This sale is for a 22\" antique bisque doll. The doll is marked on the back of the head: 151.9 Made in Germany. I believe it is Kestner. The body is kid with bisque lower arms and cloth lower legs. There is a small chip on one of the fingers and the body has a repair on one of the elbow areas and some cellophane tape around one of the legs where it attaches to the kid portion. I assume it was leaking sawdust. The head is perfect and still has the original plaster pate. I removed the head from the body to check the markings and condition. I can stuff the head to secure the eyes and the new owner can put the head back on. I thought this would be better than removing the original pate. The doll has her original wig that appears to be uncombed. She has her original sleep eyes and open mouth with upper teeth. Her clothing is wonderful to look at and has been washed, starched, and ironed. Ribbons were removed and reinserted. The dress has some holes in the lace and also major damage on sleeves. If you sew you could replace the organdy sleeve area. There are also some other holes in the dress but have tried to touch on the major issues. The dress snaps in the back. Her original lace knit socks show age holes/damage but are still pretty. She also has a knit upper shirt/top, slip, and pantaloons. The clothing is all very old and probably was hand made for the doll in the early 1900\'S. A beautiful example of an early Kestner Doll to add to your collection.
