Beautiful CASED SET of 12 SILVER-GILT ICE CREAM SPOONS London 1893 crested spade:

We are offering for sale a lovely set of twelve silver-gilt ice creamspoonscontained within their originalpresentation case.

These silver spoons are of the highest quality and the all over gilt(gold-wash) finish is testament to that. They have openwork finials withpierced flowers and a fine unicorn crest to the bowls.

The spoons have the distinctive flat spade like bowls that identify themfor use with ice cream - avery expensiveluxury in Victorian timeswhere specially made cold stores would keep blocks of ice to maintain afreezing temperature for the storage of ice cream.

The original black leathercovered box has gilt tooling and theletters \"D.G.G.\" embossed in to the top. It has a double claspopening to reveal a plush green baize and silk interior. The inside of the lidis emblazoned with the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company trademark andaddress. The colour really sets off the gold of the spoons.

These are a trulyfantastic set of spoons and remain in excellentoriginal condition.
