Chinese 19th c. Antique Silver Repousse Floral Tea Caddy - Rare Mark Please always look over the photos of the item you are interested in purchasing, as photos are part of the description as well. Thank you.This is a exquisite antique Chinese silver repousse floral tea caddy with 4 large panels of beautiful Asian flowers, and 4 smaller accenting panels.
Many Chinese silver antiques were one of a kind, and so too, I believe is this one.
This tea caddy stands 6\" tall, 3-1/2\" wide panels, 1\" wide on smaller side panels,andthe caddy weighs 1.69 lbs, or 27.04 ounces.
There is a rare mark on the bottom of what appears to be either a duck head, an \"A,\" or a singular Chinese chop mark.
I\'ve spent a number of hours researching and have only come across one other Chinese silver piece with the same mark; however, the seller doesn\'t know of the particular mark either. It is not the typical Chinese export mark.
Maybe it wasn\'t an export piece?
