Thisis a piece ofall-natural authentic Dominican amber from the mines in the Dominican Republic thathas a rarely seen,beautiful green color to it when sunlight strikes it! Some believe this is due toancient chlorophyll being preserved in the amber.

The piece has not been treated in any wayand has a large window polished into it while the remainder is in the rough as mined.

All pictures were taken in natural sunlight to show the true color best with the exception of the last one that was taken under UV (ultraviolet) light to show the amber\'s natural fluorescent properties.

All amber I offer is authentic, non-treated material. Many of these specimens have been hand-sanded and polished by me. They have not been reconstituted nor are they plastic.

This amber is much more rare than the ever prevalent Baltic amber which originates from several countries and across Europe.

Dominican amber comes from one island source: the Dominican Republic which shares the island with Haitiand the supply is much smaller than that of Baltic amber which has been mined for centuries and now is mass mined as opposed to Dominican material which has been mined for only decades with picks and hammers by candlelight.

The piece itself weighs7.9 gramsand has approximate dimensions of3.5 cmlength,2.2 cm width,and1.5 cm height. NOTE: 2.5 cm is approximately 1 inch. I hand-sand and fully polish the majority of amber pieces I offer, this piece from rough originating from theDominican Republic.
