This is avery attractive, post war, antique white paintedbakeliteFarnsworth tuberadio, ModelET 065(circa 1946). It was manufactured by the Farnsworth Television & Radio Corporation of Chicago, Illinois.

Most \"Art Deco\" radio cabinet designs utilized \"machine age\" styling elements such as elongated horizontal louvers, rounded cabinet ends reminiscent of the front end of diesel locomotive engines or descending, waterfall speaker grilles. This radio encorporates decorative art (Art Deco) design elements of the \"Empire\" period. An inverted \"lyre,\" or stringed musical instrument, is flanked on both front corners by strong vertical pillars. This design sets it apart from the vast majority of other radios made during the immediate post-war period.

The cabinet isvery glossy and inexcellentcondition with only a few small scrapes in its original paint (see pictures).The cabinet hasno cracks or breaks of any kind. There were a few minor scratches in the case which havebeen painstakingly hand-buffed out and are barely noticeable. The original grille cloth is a little thin in a few spots but has no stains or other discolorations. The spring-loaded handle is original and is fully functional. The radiomeasures 8\" high x 6 1/4\" deep (including knobs) x 11 5/8\" wide.

This radio has its originalknobs and back which are in excellent condition with no defects. It has about 50% of one of its original factory labelswith a full tube layout. The other label is fully intact.

This radio has been restored electronically.All of its old capacitors have been replaced. Alltubesandresistors have been checked and replaced if found bad or out of specifications.The on/off switch/volume control and the tuning condenserhave been cleaned and lubricated. It has a new power cord.The reverse painted dial scale is in excellent condition with no paint loss or scratches. The original factory dial lightis fully functional. It has an internal antennaand plays withexcellent selectivity and fidelity, picking up stations clearlyacross the dial without any hum.

This is avery nicelypreserved radio. As you can see from my response, I am not prone tooverstating the condition of these radiosandmake every effort to provide a complete, accurate description.
