Here is the most beautiful victorian rare quality 9ct gold, classical cameo brooch. The brooch measures one & a half inches by one & threequarter inches and is all set in a quality 9ct yellow gold with a lovely patina to the gold, with a rope style border. Inset is a stunning shell cameo which depicts the head and shoulders of a classical lady in the most exquisite detail and looks to be demeter or similiar.. This cameo is beautifully carved and of fine quality, with lovely carved detail. The cameo has a pin and Cclasp working well and has a bail for attatching a safety chain and dates to the victorian period and i havent cleaned, but left it as it is & is also clearly marked for the early 9ct gold mark & as with age there is a split to the gold mount on its join, see pics, which could easily be soldered if necessary, but looks fine as it is, so certainly doesnt detract but just mentioned for total accuracy. However This really is a beautiful victorian cameo in very good origional complete condition and a beautiful unusual fine quality & certainly onefor the collector & a example that will delight.
