It is hallmarked with the assay mark for Birmingham, date letter for 1923, lion for silver and part of makers mark (other part rubbed), it is also stamped inside and on clasp. The makers mark is ?& N, this is possibly for Crisford & Norris as they made small silver, compacts etc. It has a mirror on the outside so it looks like a small handmirror, inside the lid is another mirror, the powder well is gilded. A gorgeous item for the collector. There is a ding on the back and on the back of the handle but still a lovely unusual piece.
size......approx......2.5/8\" long, compact - 1.3/8\" dia.
