Beautiful Vintage Wooden Squash Racquet Laminated Bamboo Frame Excellent Shape:
$29.95
This item is a vintage \"Selected Bamboo frame, fibre re-inforced\" squash racquet in excellent condition, circa 1970\'s. It is a beautiful example of classic craftsmanship in sports equipment. This is a Century Fibre Class Throat, Model A-806. It has a light tan leather grip in good shape. The strings are in good shape as well. It is in very nice cosmetic condition overall. Just a few small dings here and there. It would be a great collector item or racquet sports display item.
Standard squash rackets are governed by the rules of the game. Traditionally they were made of laminated timber (typically Ash), with a small strung area using natural gut strings.[8] After a rule change in the mid-1980s, they are now almost always made of composite materials such as carbon fiber or metals (graphite, Kevlar, titanium, and/or boron) with synthetic strings.[8] Modern rackets are 70cm long, with a maximum strung area of 500 square centimetres (approximately 75 square inches) and a mass between 90 and 200grams (4–7 ounces).
