Beautiful rarely seen early 1800s Georgian crested gold watch fob or pendant :

This is the first of five beautiful little rarely seen early 1800s Georgian gold watch fobs or pendants with inscribed seals which we are listing this week. This piece is the largest of the five, and it has a very ornate gold body, which may be gold plated or gold filled (I have no way of testing the gold or its purity). There is a seal on the base of the fob which looks like it may be Carnelian, but I am not sure if the material is stone or glass. The seal is inscribed with a wonderful family crest of an armor covered arm (with the hand holding what appears to be a stick) rising up out of an elaborate crown. I have this crest on pieces of Georgian silver in the past, but I do not know its meaning or which family is associated with it. The fob is 1 1/2 inches tall, 7/8 of an inch wide, weighs 14.5 grams, has a very ornate gold body, a wonderfully crested seal, and it is in very good condition. Please view the closeup pictures and judge for yourself (the piece has not been professionally polished). A rarely seen beautifully decorated Georgian crested seal fob which is a testament to the skill of the Georgian goldsmiths. In addition to being a wonderful collector\'s item, this piece makes a beautiful little pendant or charm, either for yourself or as a gift for someone else.
