I\'m offering for your consideration an exceptional early-mid-Century Navajo Guild cast bolo. The Navajo Arts and Crafts Guild jewelry is very collectible. It was founded to revive the standards for high quality Native crafts after a degradation from tourist-oriented crafts, and formed by the Navajo Tribal Authority in the late 1930\'s in order to help young Navajo silversmiths learn from the great masters and maintain the quality of classic Navajo silver work. The Guild\'s standards were exacting and their instructors were among the most accomplished Navajo jewelers of the period. The individual makers did not sign Guild pieces which could only be marked with the horned sun logo of the NACG and the word \"Navajo.\" So some of the instructors\' work is among these pieces along with the students\' work and a lot of time is spent wondering who really made which of the pieces, but that can\'t really be proven.  People love to say they think Fred Peshlakai made theirs, or Kenneth Begay made this one or Ambrose Roanhorse made that one, and many dealers make these speculations on pieces they are selling, but all the pieces were made with the intention that no one can tell who made them. What is known is that the Navajo Guild silver includes some of the finest Navajo jewelry of the 20th century and is highly collectible and desirable. It is generally characterized by its classic technique, clean and elegant lines, restrained use of stamp work and limited use of stones. All of this is exemplified in this classic, fine, bolo.

This bolo has all those elements of fine and elegant simplicity. The dimensions are as follows. The bolo measures 1-13/16\" x 1-5/16\", the nice original hand made and stamped old tips measure a length of about 2-1/16\", the tie was replaced so while there are some scuffs on the back primarily, it\'s flexible and is it good shape. It measures 44\" end to end with the tips included. The tie is held by hand made wires, consistent with the age of the bolo.  It is signed Navajo with the Guild horned sun logo symbol that looks like Aladdin\'s Lamp to me, the proper hallmark for the NACG It is correct in every way and it\'s in wonderful vintage, collectible and wearable condition. I\'ve included a picture of a Navajo Guild belt I also have in the store, above, being offered separately.

This bolo is museum quality and I recommend it for the best collections. Every collection should include as much Navajo Guild pieces as possible in my view. This bolo will always be suitable and elegant. I believe that you will delight in it, as I do.

I generally ship same day. First item shipping in the US costs $5.99 Priority or $3.99 First Class or $25 Overnight. You may add an additional item for three days at no additional shipping charge. Three or more items are free shipping entirely if purchased in one shopping cart basket. Tracking is included in that cost, and Signature Confirmation is included on items $825 or more, total. International buyers pay actual shipping cost and are responsible for any customs fees their own countries may apply. I generally use Express International, which is tracked and insured, but can always consider Priority Mail International if that is your preference. It\'s less expensive and is tracked, but usually cannot be insured. To the UK and Canada, even First Class International can be used because it can be tracked to those countries. We can discuss it prior to purchase. I am no longer shipping to Italy and China. You can talk to me about this, especially if you are a prior customer.

Returns will be accepted for 30 days after your receipt for any reason and without question. Please let me know if you would like to return something. Returns must be in the same condition they were shipped. If I make a significant mistake in a listing I\'ll always give you a full refund. The 20% restocking fee does not apply when the mistake is mine. I care that you\'re happy and about my accuracy, and will always stand behind my work.

When I include pages from published books in my listings it is in accordance with Fair Use Law, which permits the use of source material for discussion, reference, education and criticism.

Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.

I am sorry to say I can no longer recommend ATADA nor buying from their members with perhaps one exception, and retract my previous endorsement of the group.

I request payment by PayPal in three days, but planned in advance of purchase, alternate payment methods and time payments can be arranged.

Everything I sell comes from my personal collection or is something that I would include in my personal collection. Most pieces are museum worthy and gallery suitable, sold to you at great pricing. I vet every item carefully for quality and condition, and offer you the best. I want you to be able to rely on me for top quality, superb items that are often unique and rare examples of old antique vintage southwest, indian, native american and fine gold and gemstones, whether you\'re starting a collection or adding to one, or want something great to wear or gift. My goal is that all my buyers are delighted, that my special pieces find the right homes.
