Truly Wonderful, a must for lovers of Red Settersor Beswick collectors. Thisis a Large RareRed Setter Dogs Head Wall Plaque, from the renowned Beswick potters. John Beswick Ltd., was founded in 1892 by James Beswick and his sond John and Gilbert, in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent; the Heart of The Potteries. When James Beswick died, the company continued to expand under his grandson John Ewart Beswick. With the introduction of high fired bone china in 1934, they could produce high quality figurines, such as race-horses and champion dogs. In 1969, the business was sold to Doulton & Co. Ltd.Believed to have been designed by Mr Symcox, the beautifully modelled extraordinary piece is a relief portrait of the head of a Red Setter. With rich and vibrant, wonderfully authentic colours, the piece incorporates a high gloss glaze finish. The rear of the plaque offers 2 hanging options.(please see photos). 2 small holes to accommodate wire or string; and a larger hole for hanging directly onto a wall hook. This is a minor hairline near the larger hole, which could possibly have occurred when the hole was being drilled out. Backstamp reads \"Beswick Wares / Made in England\" Impressed mark \"Made in England 668\"The plaque measures 11.25\"/28.5cms high by 10.5\"/27cms wide.
