BIRD NEST BY GORHAM
Rare Sterling Silver Demitasse Spoon 4 3/8" with lightly gold-washed bowl in the pattern BIRD'S NEST BY GORHAM, circa 1865. It is not monogrammed and is in excellent condition. Museum quality.
This pattern is known as the rarest and most unique of the American naturalistic designs in silver. The handle is in the form of a tree branch that splits into 3 branches at the top, which holds the bird's nest. The beautifully cast, 3-dimensional nest contains three eggs. A work of art.
