This is a beautiful hand-made statue of the Virgin Mary holding Baby Jesus. Two metal crowns with gold embroidered and jeweled fabric insets were imported from Europe. The crowns are permanently attached and cannot be removed. Mary is holding a hand painted gold rosary.

The statue is made of a composition material but it is not at all like the appearance of resin statues you have seen anywhere else. The statues surface is very beautiful with a matte finish.The reason it doesn\'t look like resin is because it is poured very thick. This also makes it very strong and durable. Statues you find in stores are extremely breakable and delicate. Resin which you see in stores can be snapped in half with your bare hands. That is not the case with this resin. It is strong and thick. I purchased this from the creater of the statue. She does the most amazing work. I would never believe this statue was resin.
I must reiterate please do not let the word \'resin\' put you off. I know that it would put me off but this is not the resin you would see in any gift store. It is nothing like that resin. You would never in a million years think that this statue is made from resin. It is so hard and solid that it resembles nothing of the material and has none of the properties of the resiin you would see anywhere else. This is not easily breakable!!!!! It has gorgeous properties and it has a matte finish not a shiny finish.
My statue collecting has gotten out of hand though. Unfortunately I have so many that my husband is making me pare down my collection. I must have around 100. This is the largest one I have so it is the most obvious one that has to go. I have only had it in my home for a couple of months and it was being hidden for most of that time because I knew my husband would be angry with me for getting another statue.
Shipping for this package varies per location. It would be approximately $57 plus insurance to CA. I am only putting the highest shipping price in the US to set up the sale. This is the UPS. The USPS is probably faster and cheaper but insurance will cost more. It will all depend on various factors. I will take all into account depending upon the buyers location on which is less expensive. Whoever purchases this item will get refunded any balance they are owed if there is a variance in shipping charges.
