For your consideration is this vintage 1940\'s era unsigned pot metal, enamel and rhinestone squirrel pin that is in decent condition. I list the condition as \"decent\" simply because there are various chips to the enamel paint throughout the pin. Other sellers may consider the pin in wonderful condition but I feel comfortable in saying decent.The pin is painted in black, red, and white enameling with the black paint being used on various parts of the ears, whiskers, hands, feet, leg, back and tail. White enameling circles the eyes with the center of the eyes having red enamel paint. Red enameling was also used on the nose and acorn the squirrel is holding. Asidefrom the paint, I think the rest of the pin is in wonderful condition -- all of the rhinestones are present on the pin and in very good, clear condition with no dead or gray stones although some are understandably yellowed. The pot metal frame itself is also in very good condition with no cracks or fissures but somewhat aged on the back. In addition the pin has its original locking \'c\' clasp that is firmly attached and works well. The size is approximately 2\" tall x 1 5/8\" wide.This pin is listed in \"Warman\'s Vintage Jewelry, Price and Identification Guide\" by Leigh Leshner on page 125 and it was listed with a value of $195 at the time the book was published in 2008. Considering that the pin is approximately 80 years old, I hope I look as good one day (in the not-to-distant future!) :-) Offered at a very low starting price with so high buyer will win!
