Magnificent Art Nouveau bronze vase by Leon Kann cast by famous French FoundrySiot-Decauville, Paris.

Beautiful floral design and three colors of patina –rich-brown, gold-brown, and brown-green - adorn this impressive vase.

Excellentcondition, slight ware to the patina, measures 12 ½” high, 5” diameter at thewidest part, signed on one side L.Kann, on the other Siot Paris, markedon a bottom with Foundry stamp Siot-Decauville, Paris, numbered S347.

Leon Kann (1864-1925), Frenchsculptor. The son of an ornamental sculptor, Kann entered the Ecole desBeaux-Arts in Paris in 1882. He worked in most branches of sculpture butspecialized in that of the ‘art-edition’. The founders Siot-Decauville castmany of his statuettes and objets d’art such as vases, vide pocheand lamps. Whether mythological, pastoral or religious, Kann’s subject-matterwas frequently sentimental. His output in all branches of sculpture includingthe ‘art-edition’ was glorious and the soft swirling motif epitomizes the ArtNouveau style of Kanne’s sculpture.
