Description
Avery unusual item, in this Bronze Lapel Pin or Tie Pin featuring the Bust of the Royal Child, Baudoin, Duke of Brabant. It has a Rampant Lion in shield beside the head, and a gothic \"B\" under a Crown to theright of this.
The piece has a tiny signature which looks to be Dau and the date 1933 underneath. It comes supplied in a vintage George Davidson of Dundee, Scotland jewellers / watchmakers case, and it comes in a truely stunning condition.
I have been informed by a learned adviser, that this is Baudoin, Duke of Brabant (The later king Baudoin of Belgium), who lived 1930 – 1993, and who was King of the Belgians from July 1951 - July 1993.
Dimensions
The pin has a total length of 2 1/8\" or 54mm, with the disc of the bronze bust measuring 13/16\" or 21mm.
Condition
The piece comes in a superb condition, with the image having picked up a lovely rich patina over the years. It comes supplied in a Scottish jewellers retailers case.
