For the lover of Oriental Export wares,we offer thisSkillfully Executed Daoguang FamilleVerte Plate ina Scarce \"Bird & Poem\" Pattern. Featuringa center reserve of three blooming peonies with a perching bird, a calligraphy poem resides at the upper left.The 1\" wide plate border features a high quality hand painted bird borderwith copious gold accents.

It measures 8 1/4\" wide and dates to about 1840-1870 or so.

Decorated with an extended palette of famille verte enamelswith gold, black &puce overpaints, this pattern is far scarcer than the peopled scenicsof this same era.

And just feast you eyes on the painting skills lavished upon this truly beautiful hand thrown plate!!

Bears the early 6 character mark as shown.

The condition remainsgenerally well preservedby moststandards.I note no chips, cracks, nicks, repairs, paint losses to speak of. The only flawsare well shown in the final two detail images-one is the 1/8\" wide edge rim chip that is quiteinconspicuous.

The only other flaw would be the burnt orange paint run that see which occurred during firing.

Arare export offeringthathas survived quite well indeedfor these past 150 years or so.
