Description:

A very decorative and weighty little antique early 20th Century Austrian solid 900 grade silver pill or trinket box, dating to circa 1930. The hinged lid and sides of the box are beautifully hand engraved with a scrolling floral & foliate design. The base is plain polished silver. The edge of the box is stamped both internally and externally with the Austrian assay mark for Vienna, post 1922, for 900 grade silver - A Hoopoe bird with \'2\' and \'W\'.

The interior of both the box and the lid are both stamped with \'900\', and a makers mark which is only partially legible, but thought to be S.I.

Condition:

In very good antique condition showing only minor wear to the base. The lid opens easily and closes securely.Please see the images provided which complement this description.
