This is BRIGHT, solid Fine- to Fine copy of Cerebus the Aardvark #2, from Aardvark-Vanaheim in 02-03/78. The color saturation on the covers are as deep as possible, and very glossy. Due to the black cover/spine the spine tics stand out, as on just about every other copy, but this is an otherwise beautiful copy, with Sharp, springy Cream+/Off-White pages with that new book feel. This second issue seems to show up less that the coveted first issue. With Cerebus, Dave Sim opened up the door for the flood of Black & White, and self-published comics that came after. If not for Sim proving that a self-published book could be a runaway success there may never have been The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or countless others that followed. While the print run for the first issue of TMNT was 3,000 copies, there were only 2,000 of this issue printed 6 years earlier, and at a time when nobody had any idea that a small press comic could ever gain such a huge following. Early issues of Cerebus were not stockpiled like later B&W books were. The print run for Cerebus stayed very low for quite awhile, while that of TMNT jumped exponentially after the first issue, making things a bit tougher for the Cerebus completist. This one will fill that gap in your collection nicely, and the crisp, new feel to it, with the blazing colors, are added bonuses. At 99ยข, with , this one is going to a new home our
response...our countless repeat buyers know that they can be confident
in our grading and our Fine+ books are often better than many others'
Near Mints, and when we do state a book is Near Mint, or even Very Fine,
you will be pleasantly surprised. As for our two negative responses (in all of 12 years on )?
That is just proof that our educational system needs a reboot... The
negs came from one new er that not only could not read a subject
line, AND description, that detailed "multiple copies", but he also
failed to notice the multiple copies in BOTH of the large photographs.
So, either the buyer failed 1st grade and/or was drunk-offerding, and
thought he was seeing double...times four. The other, who knows? He never contacted us and we are still waiting for a cryptologist to decipher the comment for us. Nevertheless, ALL of our literate buyers have been happy with their
a proud members of theCBCA and if there has been any type of
restoration, of any degree, to any ofour bookswe will make it very
clear in the listings. If you have any questions about this or any other
book please feel free to contactus andwe will get back to you ASAP.
