Akos Biro trained at the school of fine art in Budapest from 1931 onwards. In 1933 he was admitted to the Hungarian College in Rome. He spent time in Paris between 1935 and 1939, returned to Hungary during the war and was then in Paris again from 1954 onwards. Biro was essentially a figurative and narrative artist and his painting freely and poetically interprets reality, working the backgrounds into coloured masses, simplifying the figures.
Biro featured in collective exhibitions, including: Salon des Indépendants, Salon d\'Automne and Salon du Nu in Paris in 1956, 1958 and 1959. After a first solo exhibition in Hungary in 1935, he showed work in Budapest (1945), Salzburg (1950), Paris (1955 and 1961), Cannes (1955) and New York (1960).
