I do not know the history on this but it appears very old and hand carved. Unsure of the type of wood. Has a faded section possibly from sunlight, looks like something was laid across it and caused slight fade. This is an old piece and has some scratches to be expected. This is such a touching and beautiful piece, sure to be a family heirloom. Carvings on all sides. Great to display year round. This is quite the statement piece and a very rare one of a kind piece! You will have a hard time finding another one like this!
