For sale is a beautiful reverse painted table lamp made by The Classique Lamp Company of Milwaukee, WI. The shade blank is done in the chipped ice or glue chip method on the exterior of the shade. The painting is done on the inside or reverse side. The table lamp is quite impressive as it stands 22 1/2\" tall and the shade has a diameter of 18 1/4\" tall. The shade itself is 8\" deep. The foot of the base has a diameter of 8\".

The shade has a glue chipped exterior on a thick glass blank. It displays a very vibrant and colorful country scene that is a continual scene with no repeats. It depicts what appears to be a spring or summer day in the countryside. There are lakes and mountains in the background, along with pine trees, fences and meadows. The colors are subtle yet quite beautiful. There is an array of colors like blue skies, green blue trees with brown trunks and a very light blue lake. These are painted on the inside in which the painter has to paint the foreground and go to the background because you are viewing this through glass. This the name \"Reverse Painted\". This is very hard to do because they are taught the opposite when painted on canvas or wood.

The shade sits on a 2 light mixed metal base with an excellent original patina. The style of the base is considered art nouveau. It has a scroll and foliage pattern in raised relief. The base metal is zinc with a copper plate and it carries a weight in the bottom to give this lamp its added weight. It has a bronze patina and looks very much like a bronze base. The cat in the house would have trouble knocking over this lamp as it it that heavy. There are two original ball pull chain sockets that are in excellent working order. The patina is a bronze brown with green and is considered a 9.0 out of a 10 for quality level.

The shade is in very good to excellent condition as there are no major issues to report. There are several factory grinding chips and nicks all along the very bottom edge and are considered factory and insignificant. The lamp shows typical normal age wear after nearly 85 years of use. You simply do not find lamps like this one anymore. Everything is original except for the antique style brown rayon cord, even the plug is original. The lamp has no signature but the base and style of the 2 light cluster and especially the shade heat cap system is as good as a signature. Their heat cap system was extremely similar to their competitor, Handel Lamps of Meriden, Ct. Other contemporaries of the day were The Jefferson Lamp Company as well as Moe Bridges. More than likely it had a cloth label that fell of the bottom over time.
