.......\"handmade\" reinvention......Coca Cola Santa truck snow globe and vintage materials were used by me to make this reinvented art piece. Coke snow dome taken to a higher level with a verdigris pedestal for home decor.
My artistic designs are reinvented using vintage, distressed and salvaged materials that may have signs of wear, fading, missing stones, little defects and imperfections. These are the marks of pieces with history and glamour that I hunt to make something different. The beauty of imperfection!I love snowglobes and the magic of snow falling down. I collect them for a longtime and it is not easy to find something unusual. Rather than having them all in group inside a cabinet, I started by uplifting some for a special eye-catch home decoration.
- Original Coca-Cola plastic snow globe from 2002, as marked in the back of globe.
- The pedestal is made with an antique bronze candle holder. I made several painting and patina treatments to come to a final verdigris finish. I buffed a soft antique Gold tone patina, here and there to enhance the bronze color. The side handle is filled with vintage beads and Red rhinestones.
- The base of the globe is finished around with an antique Gold tone metallic braid, which has been finished with a dark and verdigris patina and alternated Red rhinestones.
In the back the braid is a little loose to show the Coca-Cola trade mark. Size globe diameter...........9cm / 3\" 1/2 approx.
