FANTASTIC, ORIGINAL HANDWRITTEN DIARY OF EMMA COCKEY, OF BALTIMORE, MARYLAND, AS SHE IS GETTING READY FOR COLLEGE. FIRST ENTRY READS, THIS IS MY 17TH BIRTHDAY, 1908 ETC. This 55 page 8 x 10 inch diar,y has handwritten entries kept by Emma Cockey of Lyal Park, Pikesville, Baltimore, MD, and one of her first entries is: \"June 11, 1908. Thursday. I begin this on my 17th birthday\" and she is exhausted from parties, invitations to graduations, commencements, school dances, an all day trip along the bay, etc. which makes for an exciting life for this young lady who is getting ready to go away to college. This diary has been kept in a black notebook type journal and her name is written on a front label \"Emma Cockey\" and she follow with Greek letters pertaining to her sorority and the words \"College Requirements.\" However this journal is full of her life as she tells it on a daily basis from June 11, through Oct. 19, 1908. Tucked away inside the pages is a small newspaper article: \"Engagement Announced. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Cockey of Lyal Park, Pikesville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Eva Warfield Cockey, to Mr. Henry S. Regester, Jr., of Baltimore, Maryland. The wedding will take place in the fall.\" Apparently this was Emma\'s sister and Mr. Regester, Jr., was the son of Henry Regester, once the owner of a very successful brass foundry in Baltimore. Henry S. Regester, Jr. is noted for a composer of piano march; \"The March and Two Step\" copyright in 1902. This daily diary of Emma\'s is a stand alone journal and is a very worthy acquisition indeed.
