A very rare pair of Pommel Holsters which we think are for the US Model 1847 Colt Walker Model Pistol, or the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd model Colt Dragoon.We are even told that some troops carried 1860 Colt Army pistols in these holsters (even though they are overly large for the 60 Army revolver). Flaps have gold trim which indicates US Cavalry. Bottoms are brass tipped. Each holster has very plain marking of the maker J.C. SHACKELFORD & CO. MAKER. Straps which adjoin the holsters are broken and an early repair is evident. These holsters will restore very well and are very rare for any handgun, much less a Colt Walker.
