- This handsome commemorative silver plated brass medal was of great importance in 1914. Designed by Godefroid Devreese, it represents a program initiated by soon to be President Hebert Hoover. For every medal sold a Belgium child would be fed for one month.
In very fine condition, it is 1 3/8 in diameter. The obverse side shows the busts of King Albert and Queen Elizabeth of Belgium. The reverse side shows a woman offering wheat to a starving Belgium family and a ship bearing the word Relief, representing aid. - ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK.
