This is apair of ca. 1920\'s cast iron \'Ye Olde Coaching Days\' style stagecoach bookends. The scene depicts an English stagecoach traveling on a winding road. There is an English conductor riding on the rear of the coach with a horn and top hat. They do not have the name on the base or the scrolled top but the scene is identicalto the English brass bookends marked \'Ye Olde Coaching Day\' on the front that haveNo. 703278 on the back.Many of these setsare mis-identified as \'Western\'. This set is marked 583 on the top centeredge of the back.This is part of an estate collection with several other bookend sets and unique cast 3\"H x 4-1/4\"W x 1-3/4\"
Condition: Vintage, great patina. Original bronzefinish. No cracks or repairs. Light oxidationon the bottom. See photos for details.
