These early Character knives are a must for any serious Camillus Collector and \"NO\" Camillus Knife collection is remotely complete without the George Washington Character Knife or the Babe Ruth Knife and a few others.

Additional Description of Knife

In Present Times

Rare Original 1932 Issued George Washington Quill Pen Knife with Camillus Cutlery Co 3-line Tang and genuine Mother of Pearl Handles with two small hairline cracks. Never Used,Carried or Sharpened but with Patina and has Great Walk and Talk with perfect Half Stop. The Patina is minimal and the snap is great but the Shackle is missing as it lay in a dresser drawer in the grand parents room most or all of it\'s life basically untouched but for a few rare occasions to show off to guests and give a few history lessons during the late forties and early fifties when there was a few small children still present. Grandpa was quite proud of the little knife.

It measures 2-1/2\" Closed and was made to commemorate Washington\'s Birthday and first released by Camillus in 1932 but it was made by many knife manufacturers of the times and it was even reintroduced twice later in history. This is a bonafide Original owned by one man it\'s entire life and his. He passed in 1959 and he was the head cabinet maker for Sears & Roebuck for many years prior to passing. This knife has had a lot of attention over the years not only by knifeenthusiastsand collectors but by several Historians in several places in America andHungary. It has twohairlinecracks, one on either side near the front bolsters located ate the handle pins of each mother of pearl handle. The Patina on the blade is very minimal and it has never been sharpened, used or carried so the blade is exactly full length as it was sold in 1932 without any sharpening marks. It carries the coveted three line Camillus Cutlery Co. Camillus N.Y. and has a small nail nick for the pull. The blade is early Camillus Stainless and the bolsters are Nickel Silver with several Grooves and the exposed Main Pin on each Side just as was in the beginning. This is by all accounts a very rare oppurtunity to own an Original GeorgeWashingtonCommemorative Quill Pen Knife from 1932. The knife has his signature but the original ink that was in it that signature has either faded or fell off over the years.
