This old bivalve spear thrower or woomera comes from Cape York in North Qld and was part of a collection of 1940-50\'s artefacts. It retains both bailer shell discs that form the handgrip and also includes a cluster of abrus seeds which are embedded in the resin - note there are a few missing. The shaft of the thrower is hardwood and quite heavy with a scraped surface. The peg atop is intact with resin that has some loss with age. It measures 63cm in height.
