This antique 14k yellow gold perfume / cologne bottle was made by Gorham and designed / signed by Cartier in 1900. It is part of a vanity set that now includes only the bottle and a shoe horn. (The last image is of the shoe horn, please see item 360878200988 for details). The initials on the top are LCL for Linda Lee Colgate. Linda Lee Colgate was married to Henry Colgate of the toothpaste empire. Her aunt was Linda Lee Porter, married to Cole Porter. Linda Lee Colgate was my grandmother, so I can guarantee that this information in correct. The markings are around the rim of the gold top and are very hard to photograph, so I am including a picture of the markings on the shoe horn, which are almost identical. The markings are: Gorham 14k G 1900 -1Cartier. The markings following the Cartier signature are 4 3 3 4. Good luck with your offerding on this rare collectable.Please read the following closely so that you are fully aware of the condition of the bottle before offerding; there are no returns. The bottle measures just under 6\" high with the top on and has a 9.5\" circumference at the widest point. The bottle alone is 4.5\" high and the top is 4\" long.The etched crystal bottle is in good condition with no cracks or chips. It does need to be cleaned as the inside has a ring from whatever liquid was inside it. I have NOT attempted to clean this, so I do not know if the ring can be cleaned. There are a few very minor signs of wear just below the lip of the bottle. The gold portion of the top is in excellent condition, though it needs to be cleaned. The stopper portion of the top, which is crystal, is in poor condition. The tip is broken off and there are several chips around the circumference of the crystal stopper. This could probably be restored by a professional.
