Offering an American antique cast iron woodpecker bird toothpick match box holder
Measures 4 1/2\'\' by 2 1/2\" and stands approximately 3\" high. Made of cast iron metal commonly used in the 19th century. The bird is perched on a decorative box with an opening, he then is pushed into the box and a match or toothpick is retrieved in its beak. The bird\'s back is the striker for the match. Unique and sturdy design. Original finish. Maker unknown.
Excellent antique condition and the swivel mechanism works fine.
