Cdv photo, Sgt. Theron B. McCord, Co. D, 10th Minnesota Infantry, Aug. 18, 1862 - Aug. 19, 1865. The 10th Minnesota served during the 1862 Indian War in Minnesota, Co. D served at Henderson, MN and manned several forts in Sibley County before heading south. Co. D lost men killed and wounded at the Battle of Nashville, Dec. 16, 1864 and also lost two men in Henderson Minnesota where they were incarcerated in the jail. Hoping to escape the2 menlit their cell on fire and then found outthe jailer did not have the key and subsequently burned to death.
