CHACAL # 1 First issue of this very high quality, semiprofessional fanzine, issued in 1976, 8.5 x 11, 58 pages. Condition is a solid Very Fine/Near Mint. Book is clean, flat, tight, and complete with brilliant cover inks. Only two tiny cover edge dings,
one on the upper right hand corner of the front and one on the lower left hand corner of the rear and one mild stress line along
the spine keep this copy from being in Mint condition. Edited by ARNIE FENNER and BYRON ROARK. Features cover art by JEFF EASLEY (a scene from the ROBERT E. HOWARD tale QUEEN OF THE BLACK COAST), rear cover by RICHARD CORBEN, and interior illustrations by JON GERUNG, MARCUS BOAS, JOHN TIBBETTS, CLYDE CALDWELL, FRANK FRAZETTA, STEVE FABIAN, and DAVID IRELAND. The founders of this fine zine were serious fans/collectors of ROBERT E. HOWARD and \"Sword and Sorcery\" heroic fantasy in general, and their interest is refelected in this wonderful publication This issue features an interview with C. L. MOORE (regular contributor to Weird Tales in the 1930\'s and creator of Jirel of Joiry and Northwest Smith) fiction (THE ROAD OF AZRAEL) by ROBERT E. HOWARD, also fiction by TOM REAMY, HOWARD WALDROP, and KARL EDWARD WAGNER (a terrific Kane short story) and more.
