This is a very pretty antique French religious diorama dating from the mid 1900\'s. It would have been bought as a souvenir from a religious pilgrimage to Lourdes. It is very decorative and would make a lovely addition to any vintage French display.
The image on the back of the diorama is of Our Lady of Lourdes in the Grotto. Before her is Marie- Bernadette Soubirous to whom she appeared in 1858. The scene is depicted in lovely detail and colour.
All of this is covered with domed glass and held in a round metal frame. There is a loop at the back of the frame for hanging on a hook or threading through with ribbon. It is all in good condition.
The diorama measures 9 cm in diameter.
A pretty and interesting piece for any vintage French display and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
Please Note :- These dioramas are very difficult to photograph and the light from our chandeliers is reflected in the domed glass.
