This is a Charming Rare Little Vintage Irish Costume Doll - She has a label sewn into her cape with the makers name Gabrielle of Castlebellingham. She is l approximately 16 cm in height. She has a composite body. The doll itself weighs heavier than expected for its size and I suspect the head and legs are possibly solid, possibly some sort of plaster. She looks to have a fair bit of age, certainly fifties or earlier. Sadly the end of right foot looks to have been repaired at some point and the other foot looks to have a hairline crack. Otherwise her clothes and the doll itself are in good condition for their age. Her clothes resemble that of \'Little Red Riding Hood\' but the red and green combination and the label in the cape, looks to be a given that its a doll in Irish costume. Her skirt is a little creased and could do with a press. The areas of white in her clothes particularly the apron has some age related discolouration and could do with freshening. As with all the other dolls from the same collection which I am selling at present, I feel were stored rather than displayed so this has preserved them. These dolls although costume are generally quality items and not typical of the souvenirs sold in their thousands.
