This is a very rare autograph photo of navy admiral Chester W. Nimitz. 9.75 x 10.25 souvenir photo showing Nimitz signing the Japanese surrender on the USS Missouri Tokyo bay 2 September 1945. The photo is paper stock in very good condition with a slight bit of rippling at bottom edge and a couple of pin holes at top left edge. The photo is personally signed with a dedication to Dallas, Texas Mayor Woodall Rodgers. It reads "To Woodall Rodgers mayor, with best wishes and great esteem. c.w. Nimitz fleet admiral USN. 7 Dec. 1946." Signed on the fifth anniversary of the Japanese attack on pearl harbor.
