Vintage Old Art Artist Drawn Colour Tuck\'s Picture post card. Artist Signed by H.G. Gandy 1923. China, WUHU. Chinese Ethnic Life. Yangtze River. The Beggars of Wu-Hu. The majority of the beggars in China belong to the Beggars Union which is a very powerful one. All Coolies for carrying chairs etc., at funerals and weddings are provided by this Union. Wu-Hu is on the Yangste River not far from Nanking. The Wuhu beggars live in their tubs and paddle out to beg from the passengers of all the River Steamers. Even the babies, often born in the tubs, hold up their hands and beg. In the flood season the waters of the Yangste River, which is over 3,000 miles in length, are bright red brown in colour. 蕪湖.
