Chinese Export Silver Vesta Case - Antique Circa 1890

A fine antique Chinese Export Silver vesta case; an addition to our diverse smoking related silverware collection

This fine antique Chinese Export Silver (CES) vesta case has a plain rectangular rounded form.

The anterior surface of the case is embellished with embossed decoration depicting interlacing branches of cherry blossom on a matt background.

The posterior of the case is ornamented with an embossed iconic oriental dragon design amidst clouds in addition to a matt background.

The decoration to either side of this silver vesta case continues across the hinged cover, which secures with a push fit catch.

There is a serrated panel/match striker to the underside.

Condition

This antique silver vesta case is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The embossed decoration is all very sharp.

There are no hallmarks as to be expected with such a piece.
