I have truffled away some wonderful and unique pieces from the last chateau attic clearance to list. Most of the pieces have been packed away since the property was closed down in the early 1900s and I will be listing them just as I have unpacked them.
A la prochaine mes belles.....This is a sweet antique French miniature vignette in a giltwood frame that dates from the early 1900s.
The scene is a softly coloured vignette of an 18th century chateau garden scene.
A couple are seated at a table whilst one monsieur in his tunic coat and silk stockings stands behind them. Behind them on a bench is a mademoiselle in her flower trimmed bonnet. If you look closely you can see a she is taking a letter from the standing monsieur.....a secret amour?
The vignette is very easy on the eye, the frame just a little timeworn from the passage of time.
The original hanging ring is in place and the frame measures 4.25\" (11cms).
