Circa 1950 Israel Silver Filigree Twelve Tribes Jewish Mezuzah Antique Judaica :

2.9 inches high, almost an inch wide. Beautifully crafted sterling silver mezuzah from circa 1950 from Israel, hallmarked on reverse \"Stanetzky Israel St. 925\". Each side has the symbols of each of the 12 Tribes which are titled in Hebrew. There is an on-purpose gap in the front so the viewer can see that there is a mezuzah scroll inside, which there is. Top and bottom has holes/flanges to nail into a doorpost, and top and bottom has a placement of silver filigree decoration. This type of high quality silver tourist item only lasted in Israel to about 1960.

Shown in the last photo is from the book \"Jewish Ceremonial Art and Religious Observance\". This mezuzah is also pictured in the self-published book \"Upon Thy Doorposts\" by the mezuzah collector Belle Rosenbaum.
