U.S. Model 1832 Foot Artillery Sword

One of the most coveted and collectible edged weapons of the U.S. military. The Ames Model 1832 Foot Artillery Sword swords were used by enlisted artillery men during the Civil War and the Mexican War. The brass handle is sharply marked 83 on one side and the initials CK are engraved/stamped by hand on the other.The Federal Eagle is on both sides of the hilt. The sword has a 19” blade, and is 25” in overall length. The brass has pleasing colored patina. Refer to the pictures for overall condition. Theblade HAS NOT BEEN SHARPENED, OR CLEANED. Overall condition of the sword is good. No scabbard.A very collectible old U.S. military item.
