Civil War CDV -Union Soldier (with broken nose) in Uniform with Rifle by Cooper:

This wonderful CDV shows an older Union soldier posing with his rifle and gear. He might have already seen some combat because he is sporting quite a twisted nose. The image is very good with outstanding contrast. The card is good with some slight wear and soiling on back. The image was by Cooper of Georgetown.

This image was purchased at an estate sale in Yates County, New York. At least two of the family’s ancestors served in the Civil War whose surnames were Millis and Horton. This young man may be associated with one of those families.
