Please Note this is for Local Pickup Only!! Here is a very rare and unique piece, this is a military band leaders baton. What is unique about this particular baton is its great size, it measures approx. 68 1/2\" tall. It also looks to be gold plated. I would guess to say that this baton actually dates to the Civil War era, I could only find one other like it and it was in the civil war band collection of the University of Indiana of Pennsylvania. All others Ithat Iseen have sold were shorter and looked post war to me. At any rate I have no provenance on this piece, itjust recently came out of a Indiana estate.Thewood on this looks to bewalnut.This piece is in remarkable condition andbecause of its large size would be great for a display.
