An original Civil War letter. The writing is light and hard to read in some parts. It looks like it is dated Camp near Chain Bridge Sept 23 62. It looks like it says, Dear Friends Once more I have the pleasure of acknowledging the receipt of your kind letters it found myself with the rest of the all well our Regiment has gone to centerville I am going today we was there the other day and parolled 46 men & captured a nice little Flag with the inscription on one side Beauragard Rifles on the other side Love of country leads us It is very fine weather here Respects to all (initials, or signature) On the back there is some more writing it looks like it says, The Seargeant of our company lost the paper you sent me and a letter from Eliza Eqe.

Theletter is in good condition with edge wear and stain marks.
