original Civil Warletterincluding the cover that belonged to Chaplain Alonzo Hall Quint who was in the 2nd Massachusetts.This was a letter written to him. The letter is dated April 30, 1862. The cover has the send to address of General Banks Division. I currently have other letters listed that belonged to this person. Some of the writing is hard to read I translated the best I could. The letter reads:

Dear Son

Your letter of 20th came Saturday..........I think you ought to git an extra copy of the Congregationalist when your letters are printed, for ours goes the round till they are all worn out, I hope our army and Navy will hit Rebellion a Crack on the head Soon that will fetch it to the ground.............Geo Quint
