original Civil Warletterdated Camp opposite Fredericksburg Va May 9th 1862.Some of the writing is hard to read I translated the best I could. The letter reads:
My Darling
We got a mail last night..................Isnt Genl McClellan a trump. the whole army swears by him....................There is considerable sickness in the Brigade especially among the Sharp Shooters.............this is one of the real old Yaller Days hotter than a yaller dog. Smith says its hotter than a n_ggers nest with the old N_ggers in the has wear and stain marks, there are split marks, the cover has you have any questions feel free to ask. Thank you for looking.
