Offering a Civil War Letter NY 15th Engineers With Envelope. Letter dated Washington Nov. 23, 1864 and envelope is dated Nov. 24 Washington DC. Piece was addressed to his sister interesting letter as he was loading his musket in the tent it accidentially went off and he shot himself in the foot. Letter is written from hospital. Nice readable letter. The envelope flap has short history of Brewster in pencil.
Amos N. Brewster age, 26 years enlisted August 29, 1864, at Annsville NY mustered in as private, Company L NY 15th Engineer Regiment to serve one year. Mustered out with Company June 13, 1865, at Fort Barry, Va.
