Original Block of wood from Civil War CSA Prison camp located at Elmira NY; HELLMIRA. The house I owned at 630 W. Gray St. Elmira NY was built out of the prison wood in 1866. When I gutted this house for renovations, I saved the wood. It is located 1 block from the site of the prison where 12123 Confederate soldiers were incarcerated, and more than 24% died. Documentation (photo#3) of the house being built out of the wood will be enclosed withyour purchase. This house is listed on the National Historic Registry.Each block is approximately 8\" x 4\" and has the story of HELLMIRA decoupaged on the front.
